I haven't blogged here in a while- lets be honest, I haven't really even ever blogged here. But I thought that I would start this back up since I'm quickly realizing that I need another place to talk about all of this wedding madness.
That's right folks. I'm engaged! I really am excited, I swear but it's dulled down a bit since this first little speed bump.
You see, in all of my "pre-wedding"-ness, I had no idea where to start. Yes, no idea at all. You see, this is my first time ever planning a wedding (not shocking right?) and unlike all other kinds of parties, I have no idea... well, except one- the date. I know we need a date.
After a little running around to make sure paperwork is where it should be, I finally decide on a date that is mutually available between church and venue. 12-1-12. What an awesome date- right? I thought so. So there it was, wide open, so I booked it.
That is until about 8pm at night when someone casually mentioned that 12-1 happens to be the very same date as a soon-to-be niece's 16th birthday. Oh. My. Gosh.
Now let's just think back to when we were all turning 16. Some of us wouldn't have cared to share the date if it meant going to a wedding. But who am I to ask that of a teenager? I can't steal her thunder and she shouldn't have to share mine.
So road bump #1 it is... now back to calling the venue and church to change the date. Fingers crossed that my second choice is available still (should be) and I know this time that there are no conflicts.
